SYSTEM OF A DOWN Singer, AUDIOSLAVE Guitarist Launch Radio Show
March 6, 2003SYSTEM OF A DOWN's Serj Tankian and AUDIOSLAVE's Tom Morello, who joined forces to form the socio-political organization Axis Of Justice, have launched their radio show, which they hope to broadcast nationally. Tankian, who co-hosts the show with Morello, spoke about it in a recent interview.
"We are actually going to launch our first radio program, Axis Of Justice Radio Syndicate or something like that," Serj said. "We just taped three shows that we are going to put out. And we're doing interviews with really interesting socially involved people, politically involved people, and playing some good rebel music or socially motivated music from THE CLASH to BOB DYLAN to BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN to, you know, BILLY BRAGG, to SYSTEM OF A DOWN to whatever... RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. So it's a really interesting fun thing."
Tankian is impressed with Morello's on-air ability. "Tom's really good at it too. I'm not good at the radio personality thing. He's just, like, on. He's like, 'Hey, so...' It's great. I'm like the Ed McMahon kind of laughing on the side, going, 'Haw, haw, haw, haw."
